Halloween Update

I’m just writing a quick update reporting back after the Halloween party. Thank you all for your prayers! It was clear that God was with us the entire time. All the details came together and in fact God continued to provide even beyond what we were expecting. We wanted to have a pumpkin painting station as a way for us to connect and talk with people during the party but (due to some complicated reasons that I won’t explain here) we didn’t quite have the budget to get the supplies we needed. When we went to the store to check out the prices, we saw a sign that said all the pumpkins were free! I asked the employee why they were free and he told me that he didn’t know. His boss usually waits until after Halloween but this year they made them free early. Addie and I just looked at each other in disbelief. God is even sovereign over the small details!

Here’s us filling the bed of the truck with free pumpkins! The party itself turned out excellent; it was fun and it was connective. I am still trying to figure out how much it was helpful for our leaders to reconnect with old connections and meet new people. At the very least, I had quite a few people that I had either met during week of welcome at the beginning of the year and people that I have gotten to know during Harvest Time show up and connect with some of my other friends too!

This is us dancing to Footloose!you can’t see it in this picture but to the left of the dance floor are the pumpkin painting and contest stations and to the right of the dance floor are the food tables and corn hole. Thanks again for all of your prayers, I am really glad that the event is over with now, but I am even more glad that it went as well as it did!
