It’s been just over a week, and it is still hard to believe that Wes is no longer with us. I am so thankful for all the adventures and time we were able to spend together. Watching Wes be a light in a dark world and even through his battle with health issues, he has always been our biggest fan and cheerleader and we will miss him terribly. But for now the torch has been passed on to us to continue what he has started.

For those who are able to attend the service, it is an open invitation and we look forward to celebrating Wes’ life together.
My deepest condolences Karen & your family, Rest in peace Man of God , till we meet again on the other side our heavenly home where there
is no any pain & sorrow.
My kids, Ron and Amy, were high school students at Main Street Baptist Church who enjoyed his enthusiasm and humor.
Wes was always all in. I remember a Main Steeet youth group ski outing to Scotch Valley. I was a pretty experienced skier who came as a parental chaperon, but didn’t attempt his downhill ski adventure through the trees. If a remember it correctly, I came around a corner and found him laid out flat. I think he had hit a tree!
I was so impressed with his teachable spirit. My passion has been mentoring the next generation of leaders. At the time, I was about 40 with a few years of youth pastor experience, pastoral experience, and then serving as a denominational leader and Bible college teacher. Wes would eagerly meet for breakfast (usually Friendlies), and come with a list of questions. Although Wes was a far better youth pastor than I ever had been, he was eager to learn and become more effective.
I remember Wes’ face full of enthusiasm. I can picture him today sitting with the Apostle Peter asking a bunch of questions and continuing to grow in heaven!
Oh that last paragraph!! What a fantastic visual!!
I agree wholeheartedly. I served in Main St. Baptist as a helper with another guy, Scott King. Wes had the most energy and optimism that I have ever seen. Then i met the family, the most warm, caring and giving people that I had the pleasure of hanging, dining, and fellowshiping with. Grace, Doug, Patty, Steve (Dave was always upstairs watching baseball). Doug was always patching the plumbing, hunting, leather working, going to Seminary, amazing. Miss those times and wouldn’t trade them for anything
First of all, our hearts and prayers are with the Coddington family! We love you and thank God for each of you!
We will always miss the enthusiasm Wes brought to every meeting. He could light up the room with a positive attitude and can-do spirit. When I use the word enthusiasm, I mean it in its basic meaning — which comes from a root word meaning “In Theos” or “In God”. Enthusiasm is a quality of God in one’s life.
While we will forever miss Wes, we rejoice with you and the family knowing that our entire message of the Gospel is to preach, teach, and rejoice in that we have eternal life through Christ our Lord! We will be together again!
Thank you for having the service live streamed for those of us who live too far to attend. Karen, please know you, your kids and Wes’ parents are surrounded by prayers of God’s people, the many lives that Wes touched. God be with you as you move forward carrying on the legacy Wes left behind. Much love to each of you! 💕Eleanor
Hi! My life was impacted by Wes, Karen and Dakota! I thank you for your ministry and thank God for sending Wes to this earth. I fist met Wes, when he taught Chess at Calavera Middle School. Dakota and Ezra (my son) became friends. Karen went to a prayer group with me to pray over our schools here in Carlsbad, San Diego. Wes reached out to my husband when we started attending New Song Carlsbad. We are grateful!
It was a beautiful service today. -RoniSue
God has brought one of his soldiers home. Praying for all of you. Sending 🙏 ❤️ 🤗
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. Wes will always be remembered as the man who can make anyone smile and laugh and for this memory we are thankful. May the strength of Christ be with you all and we wish you peace that surpasses all understanding. With love, Gina & Sunny & family
Dear Karen & the Coddington tribe,
I only met Wes a couple of times through TAI, but each time I did his amazing energy, enthusiasm, lively & heartfelt human insights were so valuable to me. He touched my life as he did many others. Thank you for making the service available to people far away. I’ve just watched it – it was beautiful, different, inspiring, authentic. Just like Wes.
Thinking of you all and sending you love and courage.
We will always remember Wes’s omnipresent smile when, as a virant, inspirational teenager attended Evangel Christian School and spent many hours in our home. As our son’s best friend (Chris) and most positive influencer, I will forever be grateful for knowing this wonderful young man who went on to honor God throughout his life and have the most loving family ever! How I pray our son was able to get in touch and share their frienship once again. Much love and strength to you all as you endure the bittersweet days ahead, <3 Love, Ellie and Dave Marrandette
Karen, I finally got a chance to watch the service and I cried many times throughout especially as Wes spoke on video and your family came up and one son spoke and then the girls sang. I was so sad and yet rejoicing at the same time. Can’t believe the emotions but I just wanted to tell you that I have been praying for you and the family every day and sometimes more than once as the Lord brings you to mind. Love you all.
