Prayer Warriors

It has been a mentally and physically rough weekend for Wes. Please pray for him as he is ready to meet his maker and yet is burdened to remain here for the family, ministry and loved ones left behind. As Paul says so well in Philippians 1:21 & 23, “For to me, to live is Christ, to die is gain… I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far,…”

It is difficult when one is struggling physically not to allow the mental to check out and be done. Wes is very weak, his body has suffered from the lack of food and constant regurgitation and vomiting. He desires to be doing ministry and making kingdom impact and is frustrated by the fact he can not and is bound to the weakness of his illness. His Spirit is being broken.

I am reaching out for prayer in this regard. Please lift Wes up in prayer as he wrestles with his present condition and that he would feel the Lord’s presence and peace. That he would not regret what he can not do and that the Lord would strengthen him and give him rest.

Side note – we have received new medicines last night and they seem to be helping tremendously with the vomiting. It has just been too long and it’s wearisome to try to eat something wondering if it’s just going to come right back up and cause more problems.

  17. Dear Karen & Wes,
My wife & I have been involved with hospice since 1994. What Wes & u’all are going through is normal. Hopefully hospice can get/nausea & vomiting under some control & Wes can concentrate being with you and the children. I imagine it HHS’s been a very difficult thing to see Wes battle with constant nausea & vomiting. I’m sure that the hospice nurse & personnel have explained what is happening with Wes’ body. Hospice can add life to his days so that his symptoms don’t get in the way of his wanting to spent quality & quantity of time with his family and circle of close believer friends & family. We are praying that the nausea & vomiting will lessen so that he can rest & recoup some strength & be able to rest.
I’ve been a hospice chaplain for nearly 26 years. If you wish, I could be a source of information that might be of some help, especially if you just need a sounding board for you feelings & unanswered questions. You can contact me through my email address if u want to talk. But only if you want to. Otherwise, be assured of our constant prayer support every day.
Remember to take care of yourself & your children. May you always remember that you all can relax and fall into the “Everlasting Arms that are underneath to catch the child of God when they have no more strength to spend. (Deuteronomy 32:27 “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
May God the Father through His Holy Spirit give you what you stand most in need of during Wes’ battle with cancer. Many are praying from Madison Indiana to see God glorified through Wes’ walk & testimony with God. Try to get some much needed rest & sleep. Until next time May God bless you with peace, rest, & understanding.

    Sincerely,
Rev Paul Limato, Jr. ; Jamie Limato is my son and Wes’ best friend.

  24. Continuing to pray for you guys, Joe send his best, Be Bold, Be Strong For the Lord YOUR God is with you. Love you guys so darn much.

  25. Karen and Wes, I continue to pray for you every single day. Wes was a big part of my high school years and our youth group and fellowship. I still remember him sharing with me a tattered book of lessons in a new walk with Christ. I look back on those days and I think that is what heaven may feel like. Surrounded by friends and family who love each other and work together for the joy and the Kingdom of God.
I admit, I will have to ask God to explain this to me. I don’t understand this part of his plan. It is hard to make sense of this part of Wes’s Journey. But I guess that is what we have been taught from the beginning of our walk and faith in Christ. Before each of us were born our stories were written and he knows every moment of this life and to the other side.
I pray for strength encourage and comfort and peace. I pray for rest. I pray for you your children. And Karen I pray for you everyday.
Never forget, you truly are the salt of the earth. My love and my prayers, Kate

  26. Praying!!!!!! Love you Karen❤️

  27. Karen, thank you for this update. We are praying so much for you guys for so many things. I love Wes’ attitude of wanting to give every last drop to forward the kingdom. He is such an inspiration to us and he somehow makes it as an illustration to just about every message each weekend. We love you guys!!!!

    ;

  28. We love you guys and your in our prayers. We will continue to pray for all of you

  29. Heart aches for each one of you. Praying for rest and peace that only Jesus can give! Wes has done so much for his Lord’s kingdom! Love you so much Karen!

  30. Dear Karen
We will certainly continue praying and specifically for this request. I’m sure others have referred to :
    2 Timothy 4:6-8 NIV
[6] For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. [7] I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. [8] Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day —and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing …

I was so touched by Wes’s heart for God when you shared once of his late nights in the hospital and he had witnessed to 4 young men. And although he was feeling awful and tired, they had questions for him and he kept on talking. Wes has been faithful. God would not be calling Wes into His presence if this was not His timing. May this thought bring Wes peace and comfort and allow himself to rest in Jesus arms.

I will share a wonderful answer to prayer we have just had. I mentioned previously the Wes had an impact on our son, Derek Graham, in Emmanual Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach. Derek had walked away from God for quite a few years. He is now 40 years old and in the last 2 weeks he has shared with us that he has turned to God again and is yielding his will to God’s will. We are overjoyed. Wes played his part in our son’s life and we are thankful for that.

Karen, my heart aches for you as you walk this path. The man you love will be going ahead and you will miss him so much. I pray much for you and your children also.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

We uphold you in prayer and remain
Your brother and sister in Christ,
    Carolyn and Doug Graham

  35. Karen, your strength and humble character will get your through this challenging time with your family. Jenifer and I have been and will be praying daily for answered question, rest and peace for Wes, you and especially the kids. Let them know they are very loved by so many people because of you and Wes and your actions of a TRUE faith lead family.

Please know there is always a place to rest in Carlsbad in our home for you and your family. Please know that God is glorified by the Coddington Family’s Story and that Wes’s Crowns, peace and pain free living is around the corner. All the words that all of us write to you and Wes are minuscule compared to your feelings and desires to hold on. Wes’s Love for you is forever and real. I cry write now in Brooklyn as I pray for you. Because I only attempt to be in your shoes and only attempt to understand. Take care and listen and feel for our Heavenly Fathers will. He has your family in His hands. Jesus arms are open to tell Wes, Great job faithful and passionate servant. Peace be with you. In Jesus Name, Glenn and Jenifer Domingo.

  36. We are saddened by this news and know it is such a struggle in the body. We pray that the new medicine will be effective for the nausea and vomiting and that Wes will be able to get rest and strength back for some quality family days, weeks or as long as the Lord has planned. May you all be held tightly in the loving arms of the Lord Jesus and May you FEEL His presence around you as a family. Praying for Wes’s peace to let the Lord care for all of you. Much love to you all. Dave and Lorrie

  37. Praying often and daily for you and Wes.
    Trevor

  38. We’re praying you all. Love you guys.

  39. We will be lifting you up in prayer throughout today and this week.
I don’t think I told you before, but those verses in Philippians are what my dad preached from the day he announced to our church that he had cancer. I think of him – and now, you – whenever I read them.

  40. Wes and Karen – am praying for you guys. Especially Wes that you can rest in Gods love for you. Nancy Schaffer

  41. Our prayers are with you.

  42. The greatest words of comfort that I received when my David went to be with the Lord at 34 yrs old were from Nancy Ebersole. Her husband passed away suddenly on the mission field in a remote area. She was in Eph 1, when the Lord impressed on her that God would not take away a young man in his prime with an effective ministry, unless He intended to somehow use his death in greater ways than he could have used his life. I trust that the fruit God produced in my and my kids’ lives and in so many others’, even peoples’ salvations, were a direct result of Dave’s home-going. Also, in God’s grace and mercy, he sent my sons and me back to PNG where we were able to see first hand, when God does take a saint home, the seeds planted during his lifetime continue to grow and grow and grow. His ministry, in effect, never ends. My David’s character, who he was/is, continues to minister to me, and others, even in his absence. Many of my decisions are based on his no-quit attitude and on his tendency to value people over tasks. I am praying for a miracle, for some more good days for Wes, but maybe Nancy’s words can be a comfort to you and Wes at this time. I am always available for you if you want to talk, email or whatever. I’m thankful for all your family has invested into ours over the years. Please let Wes know that, and that I count him a dear brother in Christ and co-laborer in the gospel. With love and a hug from Michigan. Rhonda Wilkinson

  43. Praying for Wes and family daily, especially that the nausea stops and that you all experience God’s presence. Love to all
    Thank you for the updates.
    Betsy

  44. Wes has his wish He is doing his greatest ministering by sharing his story and his great love for God. He has lifted up many and encouraged everyone to be drawn near to the Lord. May
god grant Wes peace and comfort as he faithfully continues his love for the Lord.

  45. Praying 🤍 for Wes to gain strength to keep food down, for peace and comfort. For strength for you as well Karen. May His love wrap around you all.

  46. Dears Karen and Wes,
Praying as requested for the peace which is above and beyond all human comprehension- as you hold onto your Makers plans. We are with you in spirit….
    With love,
    John and Barb Chse

  47. I am broken hearted. This just all seems so fast. Wes was the leadership guru when I served with him. He is leading the way now with the same grace, faith and love.
Wes, you love people from the heart and always choose to hope the best in them, even when it seems hopeless. We were part of many difficult meetings together, and you always wanted Gods best for everyone. You are an example of Jesus to us all. Thank you.

Karen, you also are amazing and watching you go through this with such faith and grace is astounding. I am praying for you and aways available to you, quickbooks or anything😅

  48. My heart breaks ! But continues to pray for Wes and all of you! ❤️
