It has been a packed week. Monday after we left the hospital, within a few hours the hospice admin was at our door. Lisa stayed for a while to learn about our family and to explain the processes of hospice. She was very thorough.
Tuesday, the Nurse Mikki came to learn our history and to go over medicines and help make the progress in decreasing the pain and nausea. She added a new medicine for the pain and after a few days, it has helped tremendously.
Wednesday, we met with the Social Worker, Joan. She shared some helpful information of preparation for the before and after and affirmed that she is here through all of it for our whole family.
Thursday, John, the Hospice Chaplain, came to visit. It was a time of kindred spirits being able to share and comfort us during this process.
Friday, Mikki returned to see how the process is going and if there is anything more she can do at this time.
This week has had some positive and negative results. Wes got the proper bed for sleeping and has been resting comfortably. They also provided a wheelchair and a chair for the shower so at anytime he can just rest and relax. His pain has spaced out significantly, what was every 3 hours has now moved to 5-6 hardly feeling any of it. However, the vomiting hasn’t stopped. He has lost almost another 10 lbs just this week. Overall he has lost over 40 lbs and isn’t able to keep anything down. He mostly eats crackers and drinks juice. This is the part that is most concerning. We believe it is still the chemo in his body but concerned that the stomach may not allow food again. Please pray with us that this vomiting will stop and that Wes will be able to get the nutrition his body needs. Pray also for peace and to feel the presence of God during this time.
Display Picture – is at Kasey’s tennis match. Wes has been able to go to a few of Kasey’s matches. The coach – John, has been so supportive. When he knows Wes is there he tries to get the girls on a court as soon as possible and one close to where we can see.
So thankful that it seems you have a good hospice team. We continue to pray for all of you as you pour out your hearts to the Father who knows all our infirmities and not only walks besides us, but feels them just as we do. We will continue to pray for those who are caring for Wes , for the vomiting to subside and that he gets some nourishment. Love to all!

So thankful you have such an amazing hospice team. So glad to hear that the bed is helping Wes have more sleep and that his pain is less often. I’m so sorry still throwing up, so hard.
