This week Kasey had her first Tennis match. She and her friend Audrey won their match 6-0. It was a bright moment in our week as Wes, Kadin and I were able to attend and watch her win. Yes Kadin is home from college, his spring break is this week but will be staying home for 2 weeks. We plan to see Dakota next week! 🙂
Sunday night, Wes and I were back in the hospital because Wes was constantly vomiting mucus and not getting much rest. It just wouldn’t stop. He was concerned that it had entered his lungs because we could hear it crackling every time he breathed. After 5 hours in the hospital they confirmed that his lungs, chest and stomach were clear and the labs came back good. They could not figure out the cause of the vomiting. After some nausea, pain and magnesium medicine, they sent us home. Five hours later we went back to the hospital to meet with Wes’ doctor and get some IV fluids.
The doctor was discouraged by the constant returns to the hospital and the fact that he was not feeling better. The doctor believes that the tumor has grown to allow food down but not allow it back up causing pain and only mucus to be coming up. Together we discussed what our options are and we are trying something different. We decided with the doctor if before his next chemo treatment we can’t get Wes feeling better, we would discuss taking steps towards hospice.
Tuesday was a really good day for Wes, he was able to be up and around, on zoom calls, watch Kasey’s match and be much more responsive than he’s been in a few weeks. However, Tuesday night was not so good. He was up every 2-3 hours in pain and nauseous. Today he was back for his scheduled appointment at the hospital for IV fluids and to see his doctor again. Once his pain was managed he seemed to be having a better day. We are still working out the kinks in his schedule.
Spring break is next week and we are planning on being in Oregon together as a family and are praying that we can get a good routine for Wes and that he would be feeling much better, otherwise, we will have to stay here to be close to the hospital. Please pray for a good nights rest and that he would continue to improve. We would like to get some quality and fun time together as a family, preferably in Oregon. If Dakota leaves Oregon, he will lose 3 weeks of work because of Oregon’s Covid mandates.
Praising God with you for something different with Kasey’s tennis match and Kadin’s spring break visit. Grateful you were able to be present and share in the joy. I continue to pray 2 Cor 12:9 over all of you- “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Thank you for how you continue to shed the truth of both your human weakness and His sufficiency. Praying that family time in Oregon can become a beautiful cherished reality. With love from Him,
Barb

Thank you for the update. We are glad for the joy of your seeing Kasey’s victory but sad there is still so much pain and discomfort. Dave and I pray very often for you as a family. He alone is able to bring you through this. Praying for a wonderful time in Oregon Love from Lorrie and Dave McKeon
Very glad for the hopeful day on Tuesday, and sorry for the ongoing pain and vomiting!
I pray that days like Tuesday (before the nighttime struggles) become the norm, and that
Pastor Wes feels a lot better, so you can have your family trip to Oregon, and many more like it!
Love to you all,
Danielle
It’s great that you all got to spend some good quality time together! Congratulations Kasey! Praying for rest for Wes, and for peace and comfort for all of you.
Great job kasey. It’s great to see blue sky, the sunshine and such a beautiful smile. Thank you for helping to take such good care of your dad. Praying for you and your family. Tell your dad Larry says hi.
❤️
Praising and praying with you my friend. May God bless you with your hearts desires, great progress and comfort for Wes and safe travels. Congratulations to Kasey!! Loved seeing that beautiful smile 😊
Way to go, Kasey! Praying for comfort, healing and rest so you can go to Oregon.
Glad you are having a fun day as a family watching the match and seeing it won. Ups and downs are wearing and very hard to handle. Praying for the Great Physician’s care and healing as He sees fit for you and yours. Prayers because there is no other way. God’s love and blessings.
Congrats Kasey! If Kasey is anything like her mom, she is a great athlete! I well remember the difference it made when Karen came back from her knee injury to join the women’s basketball team at Cairn U! As for Wes, I continue to pray that the Lord will grant wisdom to the doctors. This is a very serious and “mean” cancer. I know from what it did to Don; however, the Lord can overcome the “impossible” if it pleases Him to so so, and so I continue to pray for that. Love you both. Hope you can go to Oregon!
Wes. Praying for you. Love you and miss you. Joe says howdy
Karen. Praying for strength wisdom and comfort. You have so many praying for you.
Kids. Be strong. Dig deep. I know just how much you love your mom and dad.
I echo everything that everyone else has already said, and we just want you to know the Millers are praying for all these things as well! We love you guys!
It is very hard to understand or accept difficult things in our lives…we pray and ask God to solve our situations…but we don’t get the answer we want. So many ..me included.. have been praying for God to give you complete healing…why not????? You are His child…trying to do what He wants
you to do…. why should you be sick? I will continue to pray for His complete healing and for
those who care for and make medical decisions each day for your treatment. I’m 85 now and suffering with neuropathy after shingles for 18 months…not one day without pain…now I have Vertigo and use a cane. The joy of the Lord is my strength….but I want to be more useful in my service to Him.
I am praying daily for Him to be very close to each of you and to find peace in His presence.
Love and many prayers, Aunt Mildred

Congratulations, Kasey, on your win! I loved playing tennis in high school! So thankful you and the family could celebrate this bright moment with Kadin as well. Crushed by the ongoing struggle Wes is going through. Won’t stop praying in faith that God would bring answers, relief, and allow your family to spend spring break in Oregon together. We love you!
