Surgery

Today they put a feeding tube in wes’ stomach. When he returned to the room from the surgery he said he is feeling better. Still in pain but definitely better.

There is a number of things that need to be done before he is released. They are hoping to release him today but it may be as late as tomorrow morning.

They began 1 of 2 antibiotics that will be administered 6 hours apart. They are also sending in a dietitian to go over the process of using the feeding tube and figure out his dietary needs and get those things set up for when he goes home. They would like to get 1 or 2 feedings in before he leaves.

It was a long night last night. They woke him up to put in a nose tube and once again had difficulty so they had to order another sized tube. Needless to say, it was not restful having a tube in his nose all night. They removed it immediately after the surgery, so he is currently catching up on the sleep he missed last night.

Thanks for all the prayers.
