It’s been another day of waiting. Doctor Majithia called this morning and recommended Magnesium Citrate. After 2 hours of taking it, everything came out… through the wrong end. Wes vomited it all back up. In the meantime, he still has pain in his chest and needs to take pain meds every 3 hours. In the past Wes has taken minimal pain meds as possible because his body doesn’t handle it well, however, this time it hasn’t been an option to go without. Since the Opioids are what is most likely causing all the side effects in the bowels, we are looking at the possibility of prescribed marijuana. Please pray for wisdom in this regard.
It has been another frustrating day for wes. Most of the day has been spent in bed or lying on the couch. When he tries to get up he feels worse. This evening Wes took a suppository, it is the only thing that is emptying the lower bowels. I wish I could tell you it makes him feel better but it’s painful and doesn’t give him much relief.
As far as his CT scan, we are waiting to hear results from the doctor. We are also waiting for the insurance to approve the new chemo medicine before he can start up chemo again.
I’m just so sorry you’re going through this so I feel bad for all the trouble and pain It’s causing I’ll keep you in my prayers hang in there God is with you
I’m so sorry to read this, Karen. I love this man and it pains me to hear what he is enduring! I’m praying and love you guys so much! While I don’t understand any of this, I trust God is somehow going to bring good.
I am praying for you all. I am sorry Wes is going through this.
John and I are so sad to hear of Wes’s distress. Our hearts and prayers go out to you daily from Boston.
Dear Mrs. Karen,
We’re praying for you & your family. You don’t know me but you know my son, Jamie Limato. Know that we don’t have any answers for what you’re going through & won’t tell you how to feel. Your post today sounds like Wes is really suffering. Continue to hold on to God and to each other. Sometimes that’s all we can do when going through suffering. A verse that has been a source of comfort & encouragement is in Deuteronomy 33:27. Deuteronomy 33:27 “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.” We hope it will be of help to you. God bless & hold you in His caring embrace.
Sincerely,
Paul Limato
Praying for Wes and for you. Mike says he asks patients to drink a lot of water and lay on their side for a couple hours. Another remedy John tried was a higher of olive oil with a bit of lemon juice mixed with it. Love you all. Betsy
Praying for you both. I usually do not write on this site, but I was thinking about how Wes’s situation reminds me of Job and texting would have taken too long.
Although we know Satan can not be in more than 1 place at a time, we do know that he looks to destroy anyone who is doing a great work for God. I can imagine Satan standing in front of God and pointing out HIs faithful servant Wes and asking permission to try to keep him from being such a great inspiration to so many people. Unlike Job, Wes is surrounded by his wife, Karen, and other family and friends that will encourage him to keep fighting the good fight and not to “curse God and die.” There is nothing wrong with being discouraged. Job had his talk with God when he was discouraged and wanted to get answers. Wes and Karen do have the patience of Job. They have been through many trials and God has been with them all of the time.
We are praying that God brings relief to Wes’ pain. Also praying for Karen and Kasey who are with him daily as he struggles physically and thanking God for their faithfulness and love for him.
The faculty and staff at CGCA will get the update tomorrow. You are being prayed for daily, but they are given more specific things to pray for as your website is updated.
Your family are all loved with all of our hearts. We are hurting with you and look forward to rejoicing with you as well. Love you lots
Dee has had the same issue with the side effects of pain meds – so we understand your struggle. We are praying for you, for relief from he pain and the side effects of the medicine.
Thank you for your continued walk of faith – even in this hard time where it seems the answers are slow and/or lacking the solutions that you are longing for. I know that there are ups and downs – times of struggle and crying out to God, but in all of that, you are pointing others to Christ – and for that I commend you.
Please know we will continue to pray! God does love you! I don’t know why He has chosen you to walk this path, but I do know that you do not walk alone – He is with you all the way, and He will be glorified as you continue to press into Him. Ask the questions, call out to Him, surround yourself with His body and I know you will grow through all of this.
We love you! If you need anything, anytime, please do not hesitate to call.
Ugh! Poor Wes! I am going to state the obvious, have they ruled out an actual blockage?? He is having all of the symptoms of a blockage in the GI tract (no matter the cause). Praying he gets some relief soon!
Try to warm up prune juice and mix it with milk of magnesia. When I had the same thing from pain pills, it was recommended by the nurses in rehab. It works.
Also, dr. Prescribed Linsess. That works too
Dear Karen and Wes,
Waiting in prayer with you.
My your souls experience the peace and comfort of His presence even as your body is racked with pain.
He is in the waiting,
Barb
We are praying for you here in Delaware that relief will come for Wes an doctors will find the perfect solution for his condition. May He continue to be your daily strength.
We are praying daily for you here in Delaware that God will give you relief and treatment can progress to help you.
Wes, I continue to pray for your healing here on earth, if the Lord so choses. What you are experiencing is horrible and I understand having experienced pain meds and the result. It just is uncomfortable and adds to everything else. I pray that the doctors can be useful in helping to relieve the problem. They do not have all the answers but we know the ONE who does. So I’ll keep on praying several times a day as the Lord brings you and your family to mind. (often) Praying for the experimental drug to be approved as well. Love and hugs.
Psm 143:8 Make me hear thy lovingkindness in the morning…for in Thee do I trust. Cause me to know the way I should go….for I lift up my soul unto you. MAY HE BE VERY NEAR TO YOU ALL.
Praying praying praying! Inspired by your family in all this as you give Him glory through really difficult times.
I’ve been following your posts and praying for Wes. I just wanted to pass on that I know what the side effects are since I went through this number of years ago. The opioids that I took because of the number of sequential operations shut down my bowels. Nothing I took helped. When I went on only Tylenol about two days everything worked again. I hope they can find a substitute for the opioids like marajana so the bowels have a chance to start working again.
I am so sorry Wes has to go through this. Praying for relief soon. Have you tried Mira-Lax?
Love, peace and strength over you and Wes! Lifting You Up Throughout Each Day!!❤ Thank You for sharing & showing us what prayers are needed! And Leading Us with Your words! Praising God For You, Wes!
He Inhabits the Praises of His People!

I have long been a user of good quality CBD oil. I suffer nothing like the pain Wes is going through, but I find it very helpful. While I have not personally used marijuana to manage pain, I used to work with HIV patients who did and they too found it very helpful. It’s a God given medicinal plant and in the hands of the right person, can be used wisely. Too many abuse it. Continuing to lift you all in prayer.
