It’s been a long 5 days but Wes is finally home. Doctor Mike and his staff did a phenomenal job gathering all the medicine that Wes needs. Some of the kidney medicines were hard to come by but after days of calling around and contacting pharmacies they were able to get his 2 specialized medicines partially filled so he could be released. They will work on getting the rest in the next few days.
We were so blessed to be at St. Lukes Hospital. We felt more loved on than just being a patient. The nurses, doctors, dietitians, and support staff, went above and beyond to meet Wes’ needs and to do the research needed. Many times they would stop in just to see if I needed anything.
Thank you all for your prayers. The boys also sent pictures of the care package that they received from the Resonate group here in Boise. They were blessed to tears and are very thankful for the words of encouragement and yummy snacks. Thank you Karena for coming over and making sliders with Kasey. Thank you for so many who have reached out one way or another to encourage our family. We are so blessed!
Please be in prayer for Mike, Patrick, Ryan and Weston. Wes exchanged contact information with them as they would like to get together with him. He had a number of the staff either commenting or questioning him about his faith in light of his circumstances. One conversation was in the middle of the night and Wes was so tired and worn but Ryan really wanted to know more about how faith in God could change his life circumstances and the destructive road he’d walked down. Praise the Lord for those opportunities!
Currently, Wes can’t eat anything by mouth so please be in prayer as we begin a journey of constant stomach-port feeding and medicine dispensing. It means getting up multiple times in the night to give pain meds and regular feeding times during the day. We see possible weariness in our future.
Karen,
Gosh, I have been praying for your family so much I am so glad West is home now. I was so sad when you folks left New Song but I knew God was leading you folks in a different direction. I am not at New Song either. I love you guys and think of you so often you are definitely in my prayers and in my prayer group as well!!!! 🙏🏼❤️🤗

Praise God and welcome home. Continued prayer for all concerned as you continue your walk down the path God has called you too. You are handling so much I can’t hardly believe one human can handle all that you have as a family. What a testimony you are. God’s love and guidance continue in your home and hearts.
Sounds like God has surrounded you with so many wonderful people, both in the medical systems there that you are working with and from afar. I, like Terra who commented above, find myself struggling some days in the faith department as I read about all you are going through, and I cry out to God to take some godless loser instead… But… Wes and ALL of you continue to inspire in all you say and do and in all you do not say and do not do. Continuing to lift you all as high as my spiritual arms will go.
Karen, I have been where you are – multiple times a night to change the feeding tube with more food and also the give chemo through a port. I was scared . I had to mix food, too, that went into his port and then clean the port. Only the Lord can calm nerves when you are afraid you will do the wrong thing. Thankfully, for me, a former basketball player whom I coached was a home care nurse and she came and helped me learn a few things. The Lord knows our needs in times like this. Praying for you and Wes and the family. Love and hugs!
Prayers for all of you. Praying for strength for the ability ability to juggle the rigid schedule of the new feeding and pain like a warrior. Thanks for always keeping us apprised about your families journey in life and how God us using your spiritual walk and stretching your faith more every day. Showing all the the love God is bringing in your life and even though life is full of turmoil you are making differences in peoples lives. My spiritual walk and faith since Wes and your family has come life has continue to grow to grow and as time goes on it has grown even faster. I am finding I am finding life lessons are being confirmed. Thanks for being a light in so many lives. Sending hugs and prayers
Karen and Wes,
Praising God you are home! Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I have been following your story on Facebook and our prayers have been with you. I can’t even begin to imagine what you must be going through, but I know that our God is good! I pray for resilience in the midst of weariness, faith in the midst of despair, and peace in the midst of discouragement. Your story and how God continues to use for for his glory and reaching others is amazing! God’s not done!
So thankful Wes is home! Praying for all the above!
Welcome home Wes! So happy God is giving you guys such an amazing staff taking care of you and I’m not surprised that windows of opportunity were opened as they have watched you persevere and trust God through the mist of suffering. I’m sorry this is so hard. Praying you get the rest that you need supernaturally. Praying for medications, the feeding tube, all of those details that can be overwhelming, I’m praying that they’re not that you guys just get into an easy rhythm this week that works. Praying against wearing and for an overwhelming sense of God’s love and presence and joy. Praying for strength for all of you, And begging for a miracle of healing. Much love to all of you,
Louisa
