Have You Seen God?

This morning as I went to get Wes’ food ready, I noticed that I got the mail yesterday but never opened it. A couple letters were bills – no surprise there. One was a letter from a missionary that we support just filling us in on their recent conference and what the Lord is doing in their ministry and family. It was the last one I opened that surprised me. It was a letter from our health insurance company. We get these letters every time there is a change or request in medicine or treatment. In the past we’ve received both the approve and denied letters, but where we see God in the details is when I read this:

“Your health plan uses clinical criteria to determine whether services are considered medically necessary or experimental/investigational. Normally, this service wouldn’t be a covered benefit because it doesn’t meet the clinical criteria under your plan. However, after careful evaluation of your information, we’ve agreed to make an exception.

They made an exception for Wes’ new chemo treatment. For those of you who read our blog and don’t know the God we are praising, just look for Him. Look back at your life, look at each day, see the things that happen by “happen stance” and ask the questions, “What if there is a personal God who knows everything about me and desires for me to be in relationship with Him?” “How would He be trying to get my attention?” and then ask Him for what your heart truly desires and see what happens. God is in the background working all the time, sometimes we (especially in North America) are distracted by all the noise around us and are not even looking. Once you find Him and pursue a relationship with him, I guarantee your perspective on life will be different.

I pray that you all will have a blessed day and I am thankful for each and everyone one of you, and those you have passed our story on to, that are praying for us, and hearing about the goodness of our God. God has been so good to us even through our trials.

My wife, our church, and I continue 2 pray 4 God’s will to be accomplished with/u as u walk this pathway of faith. God will get the glory through this entire circumstance as it relates to Wes’ cancer diagnosis. Above all we’re praying that Christ will be seen in u & that He will be lifted up getting the praise that He is deserved.
Know that we continue 2 pray & trust God 4 His will to be done in Wes’ life. Although we’ve never met in person, we love u & I hope that Wes’ life will bring others into the God’s family. May God help u to sleep tonite & get some much needed rest.

  17. Great reminder and I am thrilled that God has taken care of you!
I have always told team members that we go on mission and all week long we look for God to do something special – and time and time again He shows up. Then, we go home, get busy with life, spend too much time listening to the “noise” (as you put it) and we forget to 1) ask Him to do something, and 2) look for what He is doing!
In all of your chaos, God has proved Himself faithful to you once again – and you sharing what He has done for you reminds us of His faithfulness.

God bless you all!! We are continuing to pray for you.

  20. I spent a good bit of time today catching up on the Coddington Tribe journey. Been out of touch with a lot of people due to a heavy load of senior parent care these past 2.5 years, and even mores over Covid season. So thankful I did check in on you today; You can bet I’ll be praying for you all!. These verses from Psalm 37 came immediately to mind when I considered what to write. May you find a special peace in these trying days in knowing that the LORD is the One holding your hand.

23The steps of a man are established by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.

24When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,
Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand.
