Hanging at the ER

We are back at the hospital. Last night Wes took his pain meds around 2am and all throughout the night he could feel them burning in his chest. They would not go down past the tumor. Eventually he fell asleep and this morning took his Miralax and that went down fine. An hour later he took his morning pain meds and they got stuck again and within a few minutes he was throwing them up. We called the doctor and he sent us to the ER. They immediately got his blood drawn, ran an EKG and got some IV fluids and pain medicine in him.

Doctor said blood work looks good. No kidney stress. They will be admitting him for the night at least. They want to do a Barium test and X-ray to see what’s going on and then decide the plan of action from there. In a note of praise, I am able to be with him in the hospital where before this week, he would have had to do all this alone.

In Psalm 55 David says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you, He will never allow the righteous to be shaken”

In Galatians 6:2 Paul says, “Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

As difficult it is to walk in the unknown, we are thankful for the peace that surpasses all understanding, and for all of you who are carrying this burden with us and together are going before the Lord on our behalf. We have an awesome God and ultimately we pray that He will be glorified through this.

  1. I was led to pray for Wes this morning before I even received this update. Praying for peace, comfort, and help from God Almighty. May those administering care know how to make him more comfortable. May you feel HIS presence and love.

  2. Oh Karen. I’m sorry that you and your family is on this challenging journey. I will be praying for Wes, you and your children. ❤️

May God continue to give you strength, courage, hope and peace as you venture into the I known.

  3. Karen, I am praying for you and the kids as you go through this with Wes. I know what it is like. It is so hard to be a caretaker. Only the Lord can heal Wes whether he uses the meds or not. But I am praying that the tests will show the cause of his bowel problems especially if there is a blockage. Don had a feeding tube because he could not swallow. They don’t do that so much any more and I am praying that Wes can swallow very soon even if they have to give his meds in liquid. Love you! Hang in there!

  4. Karen,
Thank you for the updates…. seems strange to say.
We don’t want to hear this……nor do you want to tell us…..yet God is there with you and Wes in this midst of this….
and we appreciate your time and clarity to let us know how things are so- so we can wait with you….and pray specifically…
Claiming Joshua 1:9 for you both….strength and courage, for the Lord your God is with you
Waiting with you ….in prayer…. for all of you….
    With love and hugs,
