We are back at the hospital. Last night Wes took his pain meds around 2am and all throughout the night he could feel them burning in his chest. They would not go down past the tumor. Eventually he fell asleep and this morning took his Miralax and that went down fine. An hour later he took his morning pain meds and they got stuck again and within a few minutes he was throwing them up. We called the doctor and he sent us to the ER. They immediately got his blood drawn, ran an EKG and got some IV fluids and pain medicine in him.
Doctor said blood work looks good. No kidney stress. They will be admitting him for the night at least. They want to do a Barium test and X-ray to see what’s going on and then decide the plan of action from there. In a note of praise, I am able to be with him in the hospital where before this week, he would have had to do all this alone.
In Psalm 55 David says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you, He will never allow the righteous to be shaken”
In Galatians 6:2 Paul says, “Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
As difficult it is to walk in the unknown, we are thankful for the peace that surpasses all understanding, and for all of you who are carrying this burden with us and together are going before the Lord on our behalf. We have an awesome God and ultimately we pray that He will be glorified through this.
I was led to pray for Wes this morning before I even received this update. Praying for peace, comfort, and help from God Almighty. May those administering care know how to make him more comfortable. May you feel HIS presence and love.
Oh Karen. I’m sorry that you and your family is on this challenging journey. I will be praying for Wes, you and your children. ❤️
May God continue to give you strength, courage, hope and peace as you venture into the I known.
Boldly praying!
Karen, I am praying for you and the kids as you go through this with Wes. I know what it is like. It is so hard to be a caretaker. Only the Lord can heal Wes whether he uses the meds or not. But I am praying that the tests will show the cause of his bowel problems especially if there is a blockage. Don had a feeding tube because he could not swallow. They don’t do that so much any more and I am praying that Wes can swallow very soon even if they have to give his meds in liquid. Love you! Hang in there!
Karen,
Thank you for the updates…. seems strange to say.
We don’t want to hear this……nor do you want to tell us…..yet God is there with you and Wes in this midst of this….
and we appreciate your time and clarity to let us know how things are so- so we can wait with you….and pray specifically…
Claiming Joshua 1:9 for you both….strength and courage, for the Lord your God is with you
Waiting with you ….in prayer…. for all of you….
With love and hugs,
I pray for Wes and your whole family. I am inspired by the faith and strength you all hold during this unthinkably hard time. May God continue to bless you and hold you up.
I say to God “You know my every thought. You know each one before I even think it. You know that right now I’m yelling for Wes to be miraculously healed! Right NOW!
However…I pray that YOUR will be done.
God is using you and your personal struggle to help and encourage those who read your testimony. Thanks for being faithful to Him and helping all those who read your testimony. We CAN trust our Heavenly Father. Keep on trusting Him. Love and prayers. Aunt Mil
Hangin’ in there with you all, knowing that He will hold you all the way – He promised, and He never goes back on His word. Love you, Aunt Ruthanne. Glad His spirit knows what our spirits cannot even think or express.
Praying big things! Glad you are in good hands medically there. So happy that you are able to be with him now. That is a huge praise!
Thanks for keeping us updated – and THRILLED that you can hang out with him (prefer it NOT be at the hospital, but if that is where he is, well, at least you are there with him 🙂 ). Praying for a short time in the hospital, good food for you as you wait with him, and a quick return home.
Love you guys!
K
We have been praying every day. This is an incredibly hard journey but the Lord has given you all amazing Grace to carry on. He will continue to do so. Much love and many more prayers.
Thank you for the updates! Psalm 18:6 “In my distress I called of the Lord. I cried to my God for help. From His temple he heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears.“ I have faith that God is hearing each of these prayers! Praying for healing, for relief from pain, for ongoing peace, and yes asking for all of this according to His will!🕊🙏
YOU ARE LOVED! We pray for Wes and your family whenever God places you in our thoughts, which is frequently!!! We know God will be glorified through this and ask Him for healing! Thank you Jesus for doctors and nurses to help with his pain. Thank you for allowing Karen to be by his side!
HE will be glorified and is by each story you and your family share. Take care friend.
Hi Karen,
I’m so sorry to hear he is back in the hospital, but very glad you were able to be with him.
Are there any (possibly liquid) natural remedies that might help for the pain, inflammation,
and/or circulation (aside from the marijuana)?
Praying for wisdom, comfort, and healing, and that your beautiful faith remains strong!
Praying for all of you during this journey.
