THE TRIBE
Last weekend we took Kadin to University of Idaho to start his Freshman year. We spent lots of time together as a family playing games, exploring the campus, going for walks, and hearing Wes’ heart towards our family and the mission that is set before us. Our family loves being together and we anticipate the opportunity we have that has been set before us. God has truly blessed us with great kids and a great marriage (we celebrate 25 years this October).
Monday we said our “see you laters” to Kadin as we headed home. Wednesday we said “see you later” to Dakota as he headed back to Oregon.
WES
Tuesday, Wes had a sub-dermal port put in his chest and Wednesday he started his first treatment of Chemo. The first few nights with the port were rough. He wasn’t getting much sleep. Chemo started Wednesday and he had a chemo ball attached to him that released chemo for a few more days and then on Friday they removed it. Wes was able to work. He helped his NAMB teammates Jamie and Eddie do an online On Boarding Retreat for new national leaders of coaches. He crashed afterward and did a lot of resting every day.
Some days were harder than others. Anything he eats that is cold feels like little shards of glass in his mouth and down his throat. Chewing food gives big painful shock waves to his jaw and head. We asked the doctors and they said the cold is a normal reaction but the total pain when eating anything is, of course, super rare. Leave it to Wes to get the mathematically impossible stuff! We are seeing some of this dissipate since treatment stopped. He will likely deal with this 5-7 days each week. We will wait to see what patterns emerge as his treatments are every two weeks. Wes said if he can get 9 good days out of every 14, he thinks that’d be a blessing and he can get a lot done if that’s what the Lord gives him.
BIG NEWS: Thursday, Doctor Majithia, gave Wes some pain killers which allowed him to get some well desired rest. As well, (remember that not 0% chance but very low chance?) they found a clinical treatment that is specific for his type of cancer mutation! The drug is a smart bomb that will target the cancer directly, opening it up for the chemo to hit it hard. This is not a cure – the hope is that it will prolong his life expectancy.
MINISTRY
We had a wonderful time at the park with the Resonate young professionals (YoPros) on Wednesday. Wes went to his first chemo in the morning, came home and rested, then went out to cast vision with the Resonate leadership team. God has always given him the energy he needs to accomplish His mission. Sunday we had our first service at our house. We are excited about what God is doing and is going to do here in Boise!
Encouragement! Keep reaching for longevity, eh? Praying with Fervency & Expectancy! Awesome!
So good to hear from you Karen. I am so glad Wes finally got some rest. I love his heart and passion to get the Gospel out and raise up the next generation. Praying for you and your family, praying for a miracle for healing, praying for an overwhelming sense of God’s presence, power, and love.
Much love to you and the family,
Louisa

You guys are important to the Lord and to us. Keep the updates coming. We are praying, as we know so many more are, too. #viacondios #keepthefaith
Sounds like you had a busy but very good week – love the pictures. Praise the Lord for the update of the medicine – but we know that He is able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think! So we rest in that – and we rest in His goodness to you. Thanks for taking the time to write – I look forward to seeing you all in person soon!
We Love you all!
Thanks so much for the updates and letting us follow the Coddington Tribe’s journey. Y’all left such big foot prints on our hearts and we love being able to pray for you and to see how God is working through you in Boise! We miss you like crazy and are still praying for God‘s miracles to shine big!! We love y’all! 💕🙏🏻🥰
Great news on the clinical trial! Praying for it to do it’s thing! Much to learn from everyone’s attitude in your family. Gives me perspective and shifts my focus to more of God less of me. Thanks for the updates. Praying for you and your extended family.
You folks are amazing!
God is sure using you to instruct and encourage the rest of us. I share your blog with so many, esp those I know who’s family is going thru a trying time.
I teach a 4th – 6th grade SS Class (the Wolf Pack) and before our Bible Story lesson we share, them pray. I’ve heard from several parents, “how are the Coddingtons doing?” so the kids are sharing at home.
Praying for you all daily. Miss you and love you! Virtual 🤗 hugs your way!!!
