Tuesday started off as a “typical” day. Polaris and I took Kasey to school. When I came home, I sat down to have my breakfast and heard the shower going, knowing it was Wes getting ready for Chemo treatment #3. However, the water sounded different and when I followed the sound, there was water coming out of our ceiling fan in the family room. It was pouring out of the light fixture onto our couch and floor. We called our home insurance company and they got us in touch with a plumber who was able to get to our house within the hour. By the evening the drying company came and cut holes in our ceiling and walls. It’s been 4 days of dyers and fans blowing in both our master bath and our family room. Thank goodness the heat wave is over because these fans blow a lot of hot air!
Chemo 3, Wes feels stronger in some ways and weaker in others. His biggest issues are still the sensitivity in his hands and feet. (Having a teething puppy doesn’t help either!). Wes’ parents found him some therapeutic hand warmers that have helped tremendously with keeping his hands warm. We are praising God that Wes only lost 1/2 a pound between treatments this round, last round he lost 4 pounds. Wes’ nutritionist checks up on him every time he has treatment to go over his diet. It is important that Wes doesn’t lose weight because the Chemo will start eating away at his muscles, so they have put him on a high calorie diet. Wes has been able to eat better, still slow on his initial bites due to pain, but is excited to be able to eat all the things he couldn’t eat when he was trying to lose weight.
Thank you for your continued prayers and love! The boys are doing great. Oregon just started school this past week, so Dakota is back up and running meeting new freshman and growing their ministry. Kadin is doing well in school, getting involved with Resonate and having many adventures. Kasey has found a few friends and is getting more comfortable with school and is involved in a local church youth group.
Been there got the t-shirt twice on the water thing! Continue to pray 😅🙏
At least it wasn’t sewage water like it was at our house!! Glad to hear the insurance covered the issue – but what an aggravation!! Thanks for the update!
Looks like a science experiment in your living room! Praying it is all drying up and the repairs are minimal! Love you guys and see ya soon!
Love you guys and praying for all of you. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Ugh! As Mark said, been there, done that twice!!! Just finished repairs last week from last leak!! We’re praying without ceasing!!! Love y’all!!
