On The Road – Various Pictures

Karen and I enjoyed our first day not driving since last Saturday. We walked the strip in Las Vegas and then went to the hotel room and rested. Karen fell asleep and I edited photos from the trip. My parents and our kids will be here in about 20 minutes. We are excited to see them for the first time since June 24th!

Here are a few pictures Karen took while we were driving.

Update 5:43pm PST: The kids are here. We moved the stuff from the overburdened car to the trailer and now we are headed to the hotel pool with the kids!

  1. Great pictures! This is going to be something the kids will remember forever.

  2. Those pics remind me of the cross country trip my then husband and I drove with a 7 month old in the car seat. We drove cross country, from Monterey, California, to Levittown, PA in three and a half days. Yes, we were crazy.

  3. Very nice pics, Wes. Say, did you know that while I was in the Retail (Display) Advertising & Marketing Departments of two Cox daily newspapers in Texas for over 20 years, I learned that reverse type (white letters on a black background) is really hard to read, unless the body type size is at least 14 point? The smaller the size gets, the harder it is to read. Why? ?Porque? en espanol. Why it’s harder to read small-ish reverse type is because of at least two reasons: 1) It’s not natural. Most all of our printed material, be it newspapers, magazines, etc., have type that is black on a white or light colored background, and 2) If the black area is relatively large and the type small, the black part tends to try to swallow up the Light and make the type more difficult to illuminate. Perhaps a third reason can also be spiritualized a bit. Here it is: “Red and Yellow, Black, Brown and White, we are all precious in His sight.” Black & White. White & Black. While I believe that the U.S. has come a long way in improving relations among the different races, cultures and etc., we still have a ways to go. ?Comprende, Wes?” Very beautiful scenery and nice photos too!…deLorean of D/FW
