Apology and Thanks
I guess I owe an apology to all. My friend Nate sent me a note long ago that basically said, “Hey. We get updates to pray from you when things aren’t good, but we don’t get updates when things are good.” Thanks Nate for the kick in the butt. My update for the good is below.
Subscriptions Make Your life Easy
Some of you come to the site to see if there is an update and find either nothing or find that you have a few blogs to catch up on. I recommend that you subscribe to the site. If you go to the top right of the home page, you will find a subscribe box. If you put your email in there, then you will get an email every time we update; no more guessing. And it is only to our site, so your email goes no where outside the site.
Great Health Update
So I got some labs back Friday. Before I give you my numbers, let me give you some general information on healthy kidney function. Some will be review.
Hemoglobin
Hemoglobin carries oxygen to the body. So it supplies energy to the muscles. When your hemoglobin levels are normal, you have energy. When they are low, you lack energy (anemia). The kidneys are the primary organ for hemoglobin production. Good kidneys mean lots of hemoglobin. You can figure out the opposite.
Normal range for a male: 14 – 16
Current level for wes©: 14.2
Creatinine
Creatinine is basically a measure of how many toxins are in your blood floating around your body. The kidneys clean the blood so these toxins are not affecting your body. Good kidneys filter most of this out.
Normal range: 0.5 – 1.5 (many labs have 1.2 rather than 1.5 as the high side of normal)
Current level for wes©: 1.29
As you can see, inside of 5 months, the Lord has chosen to put my kidney levels at normal. Those who know me well know that “normal” has never been a label I appreciate wearing in any life application. For one of the few times in my life, I am really happy to wear the label “normal”. (Yes, I know I opened a potential box of hurt with the comments that could fly from that paragraph. Let ’em rip! I’ll take it.)
Thanks for Your Support,
wes©
Excellent! Glad to hear it!
Wes…so glad to hear it. Nate is right — important to get the good news too. Give God the glory
So glad to hear you are normal! I know you are enjoying that status, and your family as well.
Enjoy the Fall and your up coming holidays and all the activities that you family will be involved in to the fullest.
God’s very best to you all.
I am so happy for you Wes.
Keep on Keeping On…
Phil. 4:13
Karen,
It was great to see you at Homecoming last Saturday and to hear the update similar to the one I just read on your site. I am so thankful and happy for you and your family.
Love,
Marti
Welcome to normal! It’s a great place to be sometimes! Love you guys alot. So happy that God has answered prayer and that levels are “NORMAL”.
Whatever normal means, in this situation we call it great!
We rejoice with you guys that God has blessed you with a “normal” kidney functioning … now, when will the rest of you be “normal?” Had to say it as a “get back.”
Love you guys,
TOPS and Bob
When are we getting together at our place??? You need to pick a date.
Praise the Lord! You & Karen have touched so many people and God is being praised for your recovery. -Love you lots, Grandma
HURRAY!!
Glad to read an update! And even more glad that you are doing well! So your levels are normal…do you feel normal? Do you have energy?
Our God is an awesome God! Praise Him. Great news.
Wes, I think you have always been normal considering you pa! I don ‘t know what normal is for him. it is an answer to many of our prayers that have gone out on your behalf. Glad for the great news. We are in Myrtle Beach with the kids for3 days.Raining but you know us northerners- went to the beach in the rain! Love ya all!
NORMAL?!????
Ooooops! Hit the wrong button. Normal?!? Except for the numbers I hope you are never “normal” – and by that I partly mean that our usual normal is not really in the Lords best path for our lives. You have been restored to those great physical numbers for a reason. It’s only when we are out there in the “abnormal” that people can see what God is doing – loving us, using us, healing us, setting us really free – oh well, I could go on and on.
Anyway, I happy that your numbers are great and giving us all cause for rejoicing.
Love ya,
Aunt Ruthanne
That is awesome news!! Really glad you’re doing well!!
So glad to hear the good news and how God is working!
AWESOME! Hope you have a great day and we are celebrating God’s goodness with you this Canadian Thanksgiving!!! WISH WE WERE CLOSER!
I am thrilled to hear that your kidney and general health are both normal. God surely answers prayer and your testimony is such a testimony to that! Now, about labeling yourself overall as “normal”… 🙂
Praising our God with you for the great report. We love you.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
God’s work in you, Wes, gives us such wonderful hope. You are definitely a Man of God. Thanks for updating and sharing.
Kidney function is NORMAL…but you, my friend, are ABOVE AVERAGE!
Praise the Lord! What a testimony of God’s goodness and His unending Grace your life has displayed these years. In the hard times and in the – wait for it——– NORMAL times God is good. May the Lord continue to bless that kidney with great functioning and may the Lord continue to keep you normal. (I couldn’t help it) Love to all- s
WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!
