Things Kids Say: Kasey – Face Stands

We are starting a new feature on the blog called, “Things Kids Say.” Children often offer the world great nuggets of wisdom and humor, but we often forget to write them down and remember them. This series is an attempt to capture the nuggets our kids share.

This morning before school, Kasey walked in my room and I was still in bed. Usually she greets me with a hug and kiss or she climbs in bed and snuggles with me or Karen. Today, she did not say “Good morning,” she did not give a kiss or hug. Instead, she walked up to me with a serious look on her face and said, “Hey dad, you know, doing face stands is really hard.”

Apparently she had been practicing her hand stands and made a very important discovery. I don’t know about you, but I feel as though Kasey has enriched my life greatly and saved me a lot of time and energy that would have been wasted trying to learn this truth on my own.

  2. LOL!!! I love this…. I recall one little boy I met several years ago when I was a Dental Hygienist… He was 7 at the time and as I was working on his teeth I could tell in my peripheral vision that he was staring at something. When I stopped what I was doing and asked him if he had a question, the look of complete concentration and sincere thought, lead me to believe that the question had been long standing in his mind…. After a minute he asked if Christmas was my favorite holiday….. Seeing as this was a sunny day in July and there was clearly no snow in sight, I giggled and said, yes…. indeed Christmas was one of my favorite holidays. Asking why he inquired…he simply smiled and said “Cuz you have TINSEL in your hair.” …… I finished his appointment, stuffed his pockets with toothbrushes, toothpaste and as many stickers and toys as I could find…and after giving him a huge hug, I watched him leave my office vowing never to say I had “gray” hair…… I have tinsel! :O)
