Family
Our kids have been with their cousins at Grandma and Grandpa Coddington’s this week. They love being in upstate NY. My parents have lots of property and are surrounded by farmland. We met them at Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA last night. It’s their yearly pilgrimage at the end of the week. The weather is supposed to be good. We might post some pictures later.
Kidney
Karen and I went to the my weekly doctor visit in Philly yesterday. My creatinine and hemoglobin are just hanging out at 1.4 and 11.2 respectively. That’s just fine with us. We’d like to see them move and likely they will, but for now it’s fine.
The great news is that I got off two meds, including Coumadin, and I went down on another. I seem to have had another minor bleed internally (on the surface and not dangerous). It was enough for my doctors to decide it’s time to get off the blood thinner. In my opinion, the even better news is that I am down on the steroid Prednisone. I am down to 25% of what they started me on. The steroids are tough on my body, physically and otherwise. They affect my behavior and I am broken out everywhere. I am hoping the lower dose will have less side-effects.
Thanks for reading,

PS – Uncle Steve beat Dakota in chess, but in the second game which they were not able to finish, Dakota gave him a tough time.
Gotta love simple pleasures…I think you guys deserve some quality family R&R!! Enjoy & God Bless! Great news about your meds and your continued road to recovery!
Rick & Lee Ann
So glad to hear about the meds reductions. Especially the steroids…. problem is: You won’t be elected to the Hall of Fame, though. You, Canseco and McGuire will have to settle for autograph signing on the streets…..
Hey Wes! Great news about your levels and meds! Your hemaglobin is now in the normal range. What a great thing! Praise the Lord! Don’t know to much about the creatinine but it sounds pretty good to me. Miss you guys! I guess I will be seeing at least one of you soon to get your van after Tony and Trish leave for the airport. Will be in touch!
I say a rematch is necessary….since the 2nd game could not be finished….LOL! See you all this weekend when Ken, Dee & Harrison will be here!
Love you guys!
