One Week After Hospital Release

Overall I am doing better.  I am now experiencing the typical side-effects of this surgery.  My numbers are all looking good but I will still be quite a while before I am fully healthy.  I lost blood with the internal bleeding and it will take till July 4th or so before I am back to where I was before that episode.  Then, I need to continue to gain good blood supplies from there.

The eleven days I spent in the hospital were unexpected and rough.  During my time I:

– Experienced pain so excruciating, I cannot describe it
– Laid in my own excrement, unable to help myself
– Tried hard not to feel abandoned and lonely
– Went through dozens of tests and had countless needle injections in my arms
– Was awakened all through every night so never got more than a few hours of sleep at a time

And yet, walking away, the things that stick in my heart and head are these:

– He never left my side the entire journey
– He proved His power over the human body
– He showed His ability and resolve to answer prayer
– He summoned His people and drove them to their knees in prayer
– He sent angelic hosts to battle an unseen enemy
– He provided peace in the storm of pain
– He restored and built faith in many
– He brought comfort when all comfort seemed lost
– He demonstrated His authority over physics and science
– He proved Himself worthy of following at any cost

“Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him.”  Job 13:15

Thank you all for being part of this journey with me.  If you know Him, thank Him.  If you don’t, He is worthy of your attention.

  3. Is there anything else to add? AMEN, Praise Him. All the Glory to God.
    Love Theresa

  4. He is Wonderful. Job said it all. Speaking of miracles and the way God works, look at your brother, Stephen, whose child and home were saved in the midst of destruction – planes, trees, houses tossed all around and not a hair of their heads was harmed. Yes!! Lord.
I’m so glad things are moving ahead for you, Wes, and Karen and the kids have you home again.
    Love ya,
    Aunt Ruthanne
