And Always a Surprise from the Almighty – 5/28/11 – 11:45pm

So apparently I failed to mention a third option in the post this morning. It kind of went like this:

Suggestion from Dr. Rameriez: wes, turn off the Dilaudid and it should stop the vomiting.

Question from wes: What am I going to do about the pain?

Dr Rameriez: We will figure that out then. You can always turn the Dilaudid back on till we figure out a solution, but we’d know it is the medicine making you vomit.

Wes stops using Dilaudid. Wes stops throwing up. Wes waits for excruciating pain…

Wes waits for excruciating pain…

Wes waits for excruciating pain…

It’s 11:40pm, he is still waiting!

Mid afternoon one of the doctors on the team says, “This is great. Apparently you were further ahead in the process than we thought.”

I am thinking that perhaps, a lot of people rallied and prayed the pain to be gone.

You are welcome to believe whatever you wish. All I can tell you is that I spent 24 hours in the most indescribable pain you can imagine and after a bunch of people asked God to remove it, it was inexplicably gone!

Thank you. But more, thank YOU.

wes.

PS- Now I am waiting for a suppository to work. Could you pray about that too? But be careful, that prayer stuff is powerful!!

  1. I am so thankful to hear that you are not in severe pain. I was thinking about you all day wondering if the pain was coming back. Praise God for His healing hand!

  2. All I can say is, “YES!!!!!” So amazing He is!!! And you dialed the wrong number and all I can say again is, “YES!!! Well, some would say amen, but I like yes better – especially when it is God’s YES.
Love ya. Get some rest (and a little food soon, too).

  3. Mmmm, I like option three. The idea did pop through my head this morning. Such fantastic news that it became reality. Here’s for it continuing along this path! I don’t know why, but even more than last time around I am just stuck to your blog and thinking of you a ton these days Wes et al. You pop into my head at the oddest times too (too much knowledge of someone else’s bodily functions? ;).

Wes, Karen, you and the kids are all in my prayers. God is good.

  4. I’m liking option three!!! A lot!

    Praising God for the relief…

Karen – love you…keeping you in prayer as well. I know this must have been a very difficult week for you too. Haven’t stopped lifting you before the Throne as well. Praying that you will find rest now that your dearest is able to rest too…and that He will give you peace that passes all understanding while you wait upon Him.

Love you both and the children so much. Wish we were there to help in some way – take the children – give you a massage – make a meal or two – anything to give you some relief. We can pray though.

    Love,
    Trish for all of us.

  5. Hey Wes,

I had a friend tell me once that if you take many doses of dilaudid, it may be a wise thing to take some colase. Ask your nurse about this to see if they concur….

  6. It’s 2am. Couldn’t sleep thinking and praying mostly about you and that awful pain, so i had to check for updates. I’m so happy and grateful it’s gone. I trust that the Lord is giving you a great night sleep and that you’ll have a great day tomorrow.

  7. Praise the Lord for He is good!

I am go glad that you are no longer in pain or vomiting. Prayer is indeed a wonderful and powerful thing. I will pray that you will be able to have a bowel movement. And then that you will be able to go home soon to be with your bride and your children.

God bless and have a great nights sleep.

  8. The crucible is for refining silver and the furnace is for gold, likewise the Lord tests hearts (Proverbs 17:3).

Without facetiousness I can say that the two of you are to be envied, though humanly it sounds cruel.

Many others will benefit from your sufferings (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we may be able to comfort those experiencing any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

As stated by a previous blogger, I too could not go to bed without checking this site to see the latest. We praise God with and for you.

  18. I attended Main Street Baptist Church for several years before relocating back to Orange County. However, I still receive the prayer requests and have been following your physical ups and downs. Rejoiced with you today to see God’s response to my prayers and others. “He knows our every weakness and hears us when we call.” Will continue to trust Him to complete the work He has started, and to restore normalcy to all the “K’s”

  19. Praise the Lord! He is our solid rock and we can lean on Him. I really feel that He is goiong to heal you and continue to use you in His ministry. I thank God that He gave you to me although you alway turn my dinner plate upside down. You know Grandma, I had to put in a little humor, but I do know that you are the one that does that. Love you lots, Grandma

  20. I was driving to the store this afternoon and I remembered there was someone I wanted to lift up in prayer. Not actually remembering who I was supposed to be thinking of, I thought of Wes. Hope these prayers work well- but not too well.
