I have heard no “official” news or had any communication with my transplant team since May, so we have nothing official to report. However, there are some things happening that we can report on.
1. I have turned in my last three blood tests. My transplant doctors wanted me to see a special hematologist to run some specialized tests to see if I have a condition that would cause my blood to clot. All the initial testing came back negative, they can’t find a medical reason inherenet in me for my blood clot and kidney loss. Two of these last three tests are repeats, just to be sure. One is one I asked for out of curiosity. When they come back, I assume they will be negative and then I hope to hear from the transplant team to talk about the next transplant.
2. I have been preping for Home Dialysis. It is WAY better than In-Center treatment. My arm is now ready and as we began talking about the specifics of training, my dialysis team put the brakes on. They did not realize that I was planning a second transplant ASAP. It takes weeks to set up and train for home dialysis and our bathroom needs to be converted to do some chemical stuff (making acid or something to clean the machine). They don’t feel it is worth doing until we hear from the transplant team. So for now it is in center and up at 4:30am MWF.
3. I have gained about 30 lbs since April. I am trying to lose it through diet alone (exercise takes too much out of me). If you are the praying type, you could ask the Lord to help me in this endeavor. I was already over-weight due to inactivity these past 10 years, this makes it worse. If I can shed some pounds, I may get some energy back. This is tricky with dialysis as my dry weight will be constantly shifting and then they don’t know how much liquid to take off. Too much or too little makes life not-so-pleasant for wes©.

Wes and Karen,
We continue to pray for you both and trust that you will soon be well enough for another transplant (that will be successful:)). All according to his will and plan – which is far beyond what we can imagine or think. We love you all and think of you and pray for you often.
Aunt Debbie
So glad you posted an update, as we had unfortunately stalled a bit in praying for you. But just picked up last night or the night before. I’ll share this with the rest of the Crowes and you’ll be back on top of our prayer list!
As for the weight stuff, you DID NOT look like you were overweight before, by a long shot. We’ll keep you in our prayers about this as well. (You are in good company as I’ve been putting on the baby weight way too fast!)
Allison
Will keep praying!
Linda
We’ll keep praying and I will put you on our teacher’s prayer sheet. Some of those who know you ask how you’re doing once in a while and I found out that our new fourth grade teacher (who has been a very involved parent in our school for MANY years in fact I believe you may have had one of her children) has been following your website.
I can’t imagine how tough the waiting has and continues to be.
Hoping and praying they find a kidney for you soon!!
