Pleading for Prayer – Aug. 7, 2010

Dear Loved Ones-

So many of you have supported me and my immediate family during the darkest and lightest parts of our journey.  We have been loved and cared for by your comments, prayers, words of encouragement and thoughts.

Now someone else is in need of your love and prayer.  My brother Dave has a terminally ill daughter, Carmen.  They adopted her 4 years ago from Guatemala and soon found that she had Tay Sachs AB Variant.  They knew it was terminal and have worked to make her life as comfortable as possible.  Dave and his wife Lana have labored to give God the glory for His given path and have pulled many into their lives through their blog and lifestyle.  They have touched many lives and encouraged so many through their journey.

Carmen has taken a down turn and will likely meet Jesus in Heaven this week.  Dave and Lana need encouragement and prayer to finish faithfully, these last hours of their journey with Carmen.  Please, pray for their journey and that they will complete it in the glory of God.

As well, please visit their site (http://www.beautifulcanvas.org/) and send them your words of encouragement that lifted us in our dark hours.

Thank You and Grateful for You,
wes© and Karen

  1. Wes and Karen

Wow, tough story, and yes, we’d be happy to pray

    Love in Christ

  2. In the same breath, what a horrible and wonderful time for Dave, Lana and Carmen. Our hearts and prayers go out to your precious family at this time and the days to come. She will be a beautiful precious angel with the many children who have gone before her. We lost a niece at 3 years and 3 days old who was much like Carmen not being able to be a “normal” 3 year old yet she captured our hearts and love. She’s been with the Lord now 28 years; healthy and whole. Praying for peace and comfort for Dave and Lana and the Coddington family and their extended loved ones as well. Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

  3. I have been following Carmen’s story through her grandpa Doug since her arrival. I have heard the wonderful stories of faith and struggling. I am so blessed by such faithful testimonies.

Your family is very very special and God has chosen some very rough ways for you but the joys to yet be beheld will make it worth it all.

WE are praying and will have our church tuned in too.

In all that happened to Job, he still blessed the Lord. So do you all.
