This weekend had its ups and downs. Saturday we went to the kids fair and had fun playing games and just being out together. It wiped Wes out but he was able to go home and relax. His brother Dave and family came to visit. It was the first time we have seen their baby (who is now 3 months old). In fact, it is the first time in a long time the whole family has traveled together. They have three children and their middle child has terminal medical issues. You can read their story here.
It was a wonderful visit. The kids had fun playing with their cousins. They spent Saturday afternoon at a neighbors house jumping on their trampoline and playing in the backyard. In the evening, they watched “The Sugar Creek Gang” (thanks Lauren for sharing your movies). Sunday we all went to church together and then looked at a house in the neighborhood. After that Wes was finished for the day and had to rest. Later we went to see a few more houses in the neighborhood without Wes. (Dave and Lana are in the midst of a possible transition and we would love to have them nearby if that is the direction the Lord is taking them.) The kids stayed home and enjoyed playing in the backyard and just being together. That evening Dave and Lana returned home. Kasey wanted so bad to go home with Lauren. They look forward to their next reunion!
Wes slept well last night. He was very comfortable and felt refreshed when he awoke. However, as he was getting ready for dialysis he started to get extreme gas pains. He has been having these pains on and off all weekend. He will speak to the doctor this morning for a diagnosis. They are also running more blood work to see if they can find any other levels that are causing his discomfort. Wes has not been having those terrible sweats this weekend. One theory is that he is having an allergic reaction to the dialysis chemicals. Today they are using a different type of dialysis chemical.

Hang in there folks…we are praying in Oneonta!
Blessings to you all for this day. Wes, you inspire me to go beyond my comfort. Wonderful teaching. Praying you sense God’s presence all day today.
Today another young man, Tim, is having surgery to remove his bladder which has been diagnosed with cancer. About 5 years, or so, ago Tim received a kidney transplant from his brother, successfully. After quite a while of adjustment and recovery, Tim has been living fully. That is, until the beginning of 2010 when he found out there is cancer on his bladder. With the transplant as a concern, he has had a few medical opinions, all deciding that the safest way to approach this problem is to remove the bladder and insert a port. Trying to not disturb the transplanted kidney. As the Holy Spirit directs you, please lift up Tim, his family (wife and two little kids), his parents (my neighbors who take care of me very often) and all the medical staff UNC Medical Center. Thank you, Betty.
Good news to share…. Tim, the man mentioned before here, had the surgery to remove his bladder. He is doing great. All looks very good. Prayer is such a powerful tool in these battles…..
PTL, Betty!! He is good.
There’s a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place, and I know that it’s the Spirit of the Lord. There are sweet expressions on each face, and I know they feel the presence of the Lord. There are blessings you cannot receive ’til you know Him in His fullness and believe. You’re the one to profit when you say, “I am going to walk with Jesus all the way.” If you say He saved you from your sin now you’re weak, you’re bound and cannot enter in. You can make it right if you will yield; you’ll enjoy the Holy Spirit that we feel. Sweet Holy Spirit. Sweet heavenly Dove. Stay right here with us, filling us with Your love. And for these blessings, we lift our hearts in praise. Without a doubt we’ll know that we have been revived, when we shall leave this place.
“I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you.”- John 14:18
Ahhhh, thanks Karen! We had a great time! Lauren wanted so badly to stay. She has decided that she wants to live near you guys and buy a giant trampoline so that her cousins will want to come to her house to play. 🙂 (We would need to have some sort of motivation for the cousins to come to our house!)
