Today Wes went for 3 walks. By the end of the day, he was able to walk from the house to the bottom of our street and all the way up to the top and then back inside where he needed to catch a 15 min. breather. He had a good day playing with Kasey (who is non-stop chatter and activity by his side) and interacting with the kids when they got home from school.
Thanks Dan and Denise for taking the kids out. We could tell they had fun!
Wes had a good talk with his grandmother this evening. She was a real encouragement to him. She prays daily for the whole extended family and has been a Godly example to Wes since he was young. The foundation of faith Wes rests on in times like these was built by his parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Thank you GiGi.
Now it is time for bed so we can be ready first thing in the morning for dialysis… 5:30am! The plan is to continue dialysis 3 days a week for a month. After that, they will check his numbers (kidney function) and make a diagnosis to whether or not he needs to continue.

It’s great to hear positive progress, Wes. We’re ALL with you.

Wes, Karen and family
There is no place like home! The hospital is no place to get well or feel better — so glad they sprung you. Enjoy the food you like, the couch you know, and most importantly, being with the people you love and love you!
I’ll try to get there to visit soon

Dear Karen & Wes –
Thank you for the inspiration you have been to me as you have walked thru this trial. At times I am moved to tears as I read and think about all that has happened. Please know that you are with me in my heart always – I think of you often and have kept you constantly in my prayers. I am so happy to see Wes at home and on the road to recovery from the surgeries. It lifts me up.
Take care, Wes, hope to see you back at work soon. We miss you! God bless!
Hugs,
Pamela
