Blessings Abound

Yesterday was my first complete day off the pain killers.  I am uncomfortable, but not in loads of pain.  I am thankful to be off the pain killers.

Last night was the second night in a row that I was able to sleep in my normal bed, next to Karen.  I am thankful to have her with me on this journey and it is a blessing to be able to curl up next to her at night once again.  Being beside her is always a great way to end my day, regardless of how the day went.

My second dialysis treatment in the new facility went very well yesterday.  No nausea, no light-headedness.  They seem to have made the proper adjustments.  I am thankful for the care and expertise of my dialysis nurses.

I am discouraged because a very special project Karen and I have been saving for seemed to be presenting itself to us and it seemed to have the Lord’s special blessing written all over it.  As it turns out, it was a scam and not at all what the Lord had in mind.  I am thankful that He opened our eyes to it before we wasted a lot of money.  I will just have to continue to wait on His timing for our special project.  Sometimes waiting is so hard.

Thanks for the blessing of YOU and your steadfast prayers and support.

  2. Wes, your website is the Lord’s special project. It is so beautiful and warms my heart. I am a friend of Priscilla and John. Just thought I’d log in to wish Karen Happy Mother’s Day.

  3. I am so grateful your mom sent me to your website, your words gave me a great blessing. I will be praying for you and your family.

  4. Wes & Karen:
We spoke with your mom & dad this week & they filled us in on everything that has been happening – all we can say is wow! We are so sorry things didn’t work out this time, but are so glad that you are now home, enjoying your family and resting comfortably. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We’ll be checking into the website frequently (now that we know about it lol) and will be hoping for good news. Take care.
P.S. – it was snowing today, can you believe it? We thought about getting the sleds out haha

  5. First- a very happy Mothers day to a special mom- KAREN( also an extraordinary wife) You are the perfect person God has put in this situation- Thank you for your devotion and love for Wes and the kids.
All of you are in God’s hands- we talk and pray about you guys all of the time now. I think everyone appreciates the medical and technical info- it helps to keep us informed and aware of your trials and tribulations. We will pray for and monitor you closely. I know that relief and some genuine rest must be in store for you after coming off painkillers. Wes… both you and Karen are great teachers to all of us. Know that your situation is unique but your faith and application of it is an inspiration to the Wood family. Lots of travel for us in the next few weeks and hoping for a connect with you. P.S. I know you have helped me and kept me in prayer for the PARDON- Update is that the FBI out of Pennsylvania interviewed one of my letter writers 2 weeks ago- Since it was PA. there may be a chance that you will be called by phone ( hopefully not at this time)- !!! So far the have sent out agents from NY, Texas and now PA- Long process but still on going- Obama has not yet issued ANY pardons and has requested a “review” of the “Pardon Process”
He is being extremely careful…. You and your family are good and dear friends- We love you all!- Jon-Susan and Rachel

  6. Glad to hear that you are doing OK….I will keep checking this website to keep updated while I am so far away….but yet in my heart my family is always with me! Love you!

  7. The way you and Karen have handled your situation has been a real inspiration to me personally. It gave me wisdom, patience and hope going through all that we’ve gone through with my son, John.
Praise God, he is cancer free, out-lived the original diagnosis and just went through major surgeries to repair damage from radiation last week. He came home on Mother’s Day. His pain levels have decreased drastically from what he had prior to surgery and he’s on much less pain meds. I’m still praying for his spiritual healing.

Thank you for your strong witness and for your openess to share your heart and for giving God the glory through this. He is faithful and you are learning more and more to be like him and are teaching so many others valuable lessons.

We need a date for the kids; something the week of 5/23? Please let us know.

Our love and continued prayers for all of you.
