Recovery Again!

Wes is really struggling with pain. The doctors said this time it would be more painful because they cut through the previous wound. However, he is in excruciating pain when not completely drugged (and sometimes even when on the med). He talked with his surgeon and they are going to have a professional rehab specialist try to diagnose the sourse of the pain. He will not be discharged if the pain cannot be managed.

Please pray for his mental and spiritual health as he struggles.

Steve is currently meeting with his post-transplant coordinators. We will get a report when he is done. Wes is going to try to post some thoughts later today.

  1. Hey Wes,
So good to talk with you last night. So obvious God is keeping you lifted up – you have such a positive spirit that God is going to use all of this to His glory. Like I mentioned last night – he already is in the lives of folks here. Here is the poem I read to you last night and said I would share here:
    I Asked
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve.
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey…
I asked for health, that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy.
I was given poverty, that I might be wise…
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men,
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God…
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life,
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among all men, most richly blessed.

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that ALL things work together for GOOD to those that love God.”
We are continuing to pray for you, Karen, the children, Steve, Sarah and your entire family -as well as those taking care of you – that God would lead them to himself through what’s going on in your life. We love you.

  2. Wes, Karen, Kids and family,

Thinking of you all often and remembering you with a prayer when I do.

    Grace and Peace,
    Jennifer

  3. Hi Wes and Karen,

Just wanted you to know we are praying for you, haven’t stopped. Also, the children I babysit are praying for you also. We pray for you and your family every morning before breakfast. They always remind me to pray for Mr. Wes. Well, this morning after breakfast, we were downstairs playing a game and all of a sudden Ryan stops and says, “we need to pray for Mr. Wes right now”. Needless to say we stopped the game and prayed for you. We know you are hurting, and we are praying for God to heal you and help you see what he is trying to teach you about Himself and along the way he is using you to help others see Him and learn His ways. We love you. Bonnie H.

  4. Wes & Karen,
We are praying for you all through this time. Sending hugs & love!
