Prayer Adoption

Karen and I have very much appreciated all the prayer and well wishes for us and my brother.  There are, however, so many more in this story who need prayer.  Please consider “adopting” one or more of the following people and praying for them.  I don’t know how to tell you to pray for each one, I trust you will be led to that.  But we want to be faithful to remember that this is not our story but God’s and each person we meet along the way is someone He loves and cares for as well.

We will try to update the list as we meet other on the journey.

Dr Doria: My transplant surgeon.
Dr. Burke: Head of Nephrology at Jefferson and my follow-up doctor
Dr. Hoffman: My kidney specialist for the last 10 years
Dr. Frank: Steve’s transplant doctor
Tanya: A transplant nurse who will be involved somehow
Cheryl:
Jefferson social worker
Karen:
Steve’s transplant coordinator
Jean: My transplant coordinator
Septa Guy: A worker on the train we took down to Philly.  He walked with a limp and seemed to struggle.  When I asked what happened to his leg, he said with a smile, “It’s a long story.”  I just felt  a burden to pray for him.
Michael:
My main dialysis nurse
Dr. Pat: My new, local nephrologist
Maureen: Another of my dialysis nurses
Kelley: Another of my dialysis nurses
Sharon: The lady at the front desk with which I check in and out of the facility
Maureen: Dr. Pat’s Office Manager
Habbi: Another of my dialysis nurses

  1. Wes,
I couldn’t pick just one. I would like to pray each hour starting now for these people on your list. (Except during the night-Ha!) Thank you for sharing the specific names with us. I will pass the list along to Davis, Gaines and Lauren.
    We are almost there!!!!!!

  2. Wes,

Thank you for this wonderful list. Please know that Faith and I will be praying for you and your whole family during this time. You guys are much loved!

  3. Wes,
So good to know specific names to pray for. I’ve been praying generically for the doctors and nurses. Now I can do so by name. We have been praying for you, Steven, your families and medical staff and will continue to lift everyone up.

    Love you guys!!

  4. Hey Wes,
Up early praying. Talked with your Mom and Dad last night. Know you were up earlier but I have been praying since I woke up. I am praying that God is directing the hands, fingers and soul of Dr. Doria and Dr. Frank right now. Praying that God is glorified in each thing that happens today and thoughout both yours and Steve’s recovery. We love you all. I am also praying for Karen, Sarah and all the children, that God gives them peace and calm right now. Your in the surgeon’s hand right now but God has you all in His hands. Go with God!
    Love you!

  5. They’re in my prayers. Here’s to Him who can do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine!

  6. Hey Wes and Karen, we are praying up here in Oneonta, trusting God to carry you all through! I’ll be praying this morning with your Grandmother Ginny. Our love!

  7. Hi C-Tribe,

  9. Prayers your way from Sacramento, CA!!!

  10. Hi Coddingtons,

We’re missing all of you–and praying for each of you. It is exciting to watch God working in this place. We anticipate great things–and always goodness. We will indeed continue praying for Steve & Sarah. We definitely grieve the loss of the kidney–but remain thankful for the great design and possibilities. For me, I’ll be praying for your doctors and nurses. I’m thankful you’re all there. These servants of mankind (and slaves of science and technology) need to see real courage and faith in control of the lives of the patients they serve. The only way they can see faith is to experience it (touch, see, hear, smell) through each of you as you respond to these challenges. I share with you “II Chronicles 32:8, “[Fear not] For with them is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God [the Great Kidney Creator!] to help us and fight our battles.” Remind all those who is with you and encourage their hearts (whether they realize it yet or not!). We look forward to having you back among us. Hugs & Kisses . .. Ted & Pam (love the website)

  11. II COR.1:3-5
I’m praying for all of YOU. Virginia Polley

  12. Hello tribe!

Happy Friday to all of you–hope you will soon have fun Mother’s Day photos to post 🙂
I feel like reposting Ted and Pam’s comment–exactly what many of us feel for you all right now.
I am also committed to praying for Maureen, Dr Pat’s office manager. The devil is (literally) in the little paperwork details, but we can thank God that He can even be in control of even that!
    Blessings–and thanks for the website!
