Words can’t express how grateful I am to my brother Steve for his sacrifice. He is truly giving me a new lease on life. I don’t know that I will ever be able to fully express what that means to me.
I plan to spend a few moments in the next week and a half highlighting some of what my brother is and has been to me. To start off though, I have to say that I am very concerned about what all comes with the kidney. For example, will I inherit any of his fashion sense? Look at the following video from summer 1986 and you will understand what I mean. Steve is the one in the yellowish shorts, the home-made visor…and the socks…
Where in the world did you get that video?!?!?!?
Wow, brings back a lot of memories!
Love all my bros! You are great!
Well, to answer your question of “will I inherit any of his fashion sense?”, i must clarify that 95% of my clothing was hand me downs from my older brothers. This means that wes and dave already HAD this fashion sense before me and actually passed it down to me. thanks!
Secondly, i think mom dressed me in that outfit*
*ok, when i say that “i think mom dressed me in that outfit,” what i mean is that my mom did help me get dressed when i was younger**
**when i say my mom “helped me get dressed when i was younger”, what i mean is when i was 3 years old she helped me get dressed and helped me to understand how to dress fashionable***
***when i say my mom “helped me to understand how to dress fashionable” what i mean is, even though she tried to help me in this area, like most other things, i did not listen very well
Muhahahahaha!
Let’s just clarify exactly the situation here – – this video was taken at camp and that is your FATHER smashing all those rotten foods – – AND I never came to camp and dressed ANY of you – – –
If you want to discuss Steve’s wardrobe – – let me tell you that he REFUSED to wear corduroy or pants without pockets AND we fought over the pants with holes in them – – – AND his father was supposed to be responsible for seeing that he did NOT wear holy clothes or short sleeved T-shirts to school in the winter – – I am sure his teachers thought he was an orphan – or at least neglected – – –
So – FOR THE RECORD – – Steve’s mom is NOT responsible for his fashion sense or lack thereof – – BUT I LOVE him more than anything and you all know he is and will always be the “favorite” son (I think – – did I get that right????)
Is that David in the picture with them????
Yup – in the blue t-shirt
Me thinks thou dost protest too much.

HAHA.
Perhaps the day that Steve’s fashion sense most underserved him was the day he worked up on the hill for my Grandpa and despite all his precautions (running/stealth/sprays) a bee stung him right where there was a “smallish” hole in the knee of his sweats. It swelled all up and now I’m thinking that he was probably sitting there pondering the fashion wisdom/advice of his mother.
I think if we look at the video it is all apparent that their father was the best dressed. Notice that Steve’s socks couldn’t have been pulled up any higher or they would have been called tights.
