Morning Update

Last night, Steve was up constantly going to the bathroom.  Wes was given benadryl at 2:30am and slept well.

Wes is able to have solid foods today so the nurse called in for a second breakfast with solids… he’s so excited.  Steve is at the gym doing his physical therapy and then Wes will ask to have his therapy in his room because he still has the catheter in.

Wes’ doctors stopped in this morning and are going to remove Wes’ port (in his neck) and tomorrow they will remove the catheter.  There are two things left for Wes before he can be discharged.  First, he needs to meet with the coordinator, who is planning on coming in today.  Secondly, when they remove the catheter (planned for 6am tomorrow), he needs to go to the bathroom.  Then he can be discharged.  So they made it sound like he could be discharged by tomorrow morning.

Haven’t heard anything official yet from Steve’s doctor but at the rate he is recovering it looks like he may be discharged today.

God has exceeded all expectations to both Steve and Wes in their recoveries.  They are recovering remarkably.  Thanks again for all the prayers.
