Gift from a Friend

One of my best friends on the entire planet is Paul.  He has been a true friend to me, sharpening me, encouraging me and loving me for years.  I had told him a few weeks ago that when I was in the shower one morning, I was reminded of the line from a song that says, “Ponder anew, what the Almighty can do.”  All through that day and into the next few, that song, and particularly that line was what I was meditating on.  It does my head and heart good to consider that God is bigger than me and that He can and will do immeasurably more than I can ever imagine.

This past Sunday morning after our church service, Paul surprised me with a special gift.  He asked another friend of ours Jim to take the words to that song “Praise to the Lord the Almighty” and burn them into wood.  Here is a picture of the final piece.

You can see more of Jim’s work here. Amazingly enough, this is all wood burning!

Thanks Jim for your work and thanks Paul for your gift of friendship.

  1. And when Sarah laughed at God when he promised she would have a child, the Lord asked, “Is anything too difficut for the Lord?”
And the Lord will do all that he promises. And he will do more than any of us can imagine.
    Love ya guys,
