I was able to check in on both Steve and Wes through out the night last night. They both did great through the night. First thing in the morning they both had physical therapy. Steve and Wes walked the halls (separately). Wes was able to surprise Steve by walking from his end of the hospital to Steve’s room. This was the first time they saw each other since the morning of the surgery. It wasn’t a long visit.
Later on they both had an occupational therapist who made them take off their socks and then put them back on, and then walk into the bathroom and sit down and stand back up. With all the bending and stretching of their wounds and stomach muscles they were both sore and exhausted. They spent most of the day either doing these exercises or recuperating from them. Tomorrow they are potentially going to the gym for therapy.
Tonight they were both doing much better. Steve has been getting up and about more by himself and Wes was caught getting up without the nurses assistance. They seemed to be in higher spirits tonight and continuing to get stronger.
I am at home to sleep in my own bed… Yawn! It has been a long 2 days and tomorrow I plan to rest.
Karen, I am continuing to pray for you and you are such a strong young lady. I know it is hard on the spouses, too. I’ve been there & done that. Well, I just want you to know that I love you & Sarah, too and continue to pray for your strength. Love Grandma
Hope you are fast asleep now. Sounds like everything is going well! We will talk to you tomorrow.
Love, Davis and Denise
